Transfer Stardew Valley Save - Steam

Background

Recently I introduced my wife to Stardew Valley, which she just played on my Steam Account. She fell in love, which eventually led to me buying a new OLED Steam Deck, and giving her my old one to use as her own. I bought her a copy a of Stardew Valley on her own Steam Account, but she wanted to keep her save that she had worked hard on, but it was on my account. I found a way to move the save between Steam accounts, and thought I'd share this newfound knowledge in case others were looking to do the same thing.

Instructions

These instructions are for Windows. The same principal should apply on Mac or Linux, though the saves location will be different. Check where the Saves folder is for your OS machine, and use that path instead in the instructions.

Account1 = Account with the save you would like to transfer from
Account2 = Account where you want to transfer the save to

1. Login to Account1 on Steam
2. Navigate to the saves folder under %AppData%\StardewValley\Saves, and backup the save you want to transfer to another location (backup all the saves just in case something goes wrong).
3. Login to Account2 on Steam.
4. Go to the Saves folder again. (You will see that all the save folders from Account1 are present but empty, this is normal).
5. Copy the backed up save (from Account1) into the saves folder (when Account2 is logged in).
6. Login to Account2 and verify that the transfer completed okay.

Conclusion

Once you've moved the save to the new account, and you've verified that the transfer was successful on the new account (logon to the world and check that the character and farm are there, you don't have to sleep or save the game), you can safely delete the world from the original account.
